When it comes to clothes we all have that favorite shirt or those pair of jeans we are in love with, but don’t you hate when they get damaged or faded? Maybe you’ve bought a pair of shoes you like, but they’re a little too snug on your big toe! How about those annoying little lint balls that wont come off your hat or sweater! It can be pretty annoying and you may think you have to run to the nearest store to purchase your items all over again. Luckily for you, here are 5 amazing tips/tricks that can help you save money and get your clothes back to the great condition they were once in.
Tip 1: Those nasty stains that have ruined your shirt or jeans
NEVER rub or wipe a stain, always blot it! Rubbing a stain can cause it to spread and become permanent. After you blot the area soak the shirt or jeans in cool water and add 1 tablespoon of vinegar and 1/2 teaspoon of dish detergent. Let that sit for 30 minutes and BOOM! your shirt should be stain free.
Tip 2: Your black jeans have faded after one wash….smh
We all run into this issue way to often. Most black jeans always seem to fade after you wash them or even put them in the dryer. One way to avoid this is to grab some distilled white vinegar from your kitchen and add a 1/2 a cup of that to the wash cycle. This will help maintain the color of your favorite black jeans.
Tip 3: Those shoes you like so much are a bit too tight!
If you feel like your shoes have your toes cramped, an easy way to solve this issue is to stuff them with those thick white gym socks to stretch out the shoes. You can also take it up a notch by freezing them and yes I did say freeze them. You can fill up two ziploc bags with water and place them inside the shoes. Then you put them in the freezer overnight and in the morning you wake up to shoes that fit perfectly!
Tip 4: Annoying Fuzzies
DO NOT use scissors or razors. They can easily cut into the fabric or overall damage your shirt or sweater. The best way to remove those “pills” is to use a pumice stone. You probably already have it in your house but if you don’t it’s inexpensive and you can get it from any store. It quickly removes the fuzz and restores the texture of your clothing.
Tip 5: Tired of those runnnnnsssssss
For my ladies that wear tights this can be so annoying and can literally mess up the entire outfit. You never know where those rips or runs come from but they magically appear. An easy way to avoid this issue is to find some cheap hairspray and spray your tights. This helps avoid runs or holes and keeps your outfit intact!
But if all fails just go buy it again….lol
